Udi Ford Explorer 2011 edition is primarily based on the Taurus sedan, and looks similar to the Ford Escape pick-up too.
It competes with the likes of Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Chevrolet Traverse.To cope up with the off-road challenges, the new Ford Explorer is equipped with 4 wheel drive-train.
Fuel economy of the vehicle is quite decent, and it has been improved with the smaller V-6, as well as entry level turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Towing capacity has however reduced, in comparison to the previous versions, but it looks trendier, and is lighter too.
Three row seats and front wheel drive are standard across the board, while all-wheel drive system is optional, and so is the Terrain Management System.
