LAR@audi e-sound: Acoustic Innovation by Audi
April 9th, 2012
Nanya The brand has started developing sound signatures for the upcoming models with e-tron technology. The control unit in the module generates sound based signals from the vehicle. A loudspeaker in the vehicle is responsible for broadcasting sound signature.
Future e-tron models from Audi covers long distances through the silent electric motors. It also ensures pedestrians to hear the sound; it is the synthetic solution called Audi e-sound.
A speaker under the vehicle is responsible for warning pedestrians. The company has designed the module to handle 40 watts during normal operation. It also ranges between 5 and 8 watts.
Axel Brombach, speaker specialist for Audi cars explains about the system. Sound from the e- sound system is loud enough for cyclists and pedestrians to hear.
The sound from the vehicle is an exciting aspect. It can also be described in physical terminology- the car’s sound is much emotional and not intellectual. Sounds do sense signals and it suggests composure and power, while the mid-range frequencies release agility and sportiness. The main e-sound principle is almost similar on all electric cars.
All other Audi vehicles can generate sound signatures that are not harmonious and well-rounded, but it can broadcast the performance, respectability, and premium quality.
